This reference provides information on business outside of the United States.  Published in 2003, this reference makes comparisons between European countries and regions.  The reference offers an extensive publication guide explaining how to navigate through the 24 chapters.  Each chapter covers a different industry, providing graphics such as tables and graphs.  An excellent source for international business research.

Hoover's handbook of emerging companies / Brush, Rachel

This reference provides similar information as the other Hoover's handbooks, but only covering companies growing financially, with the potential to continue growing.  The reference includes 600 companies.  The sales of these companies are all between $10 million and $1 billion.  Again, Hoover's offers complete general company information, history of the company, a list of executives, the locations, competitors, and financial information.

This reference profiles 900 non-public companies in the United States.  Organized in the same way as the other Hoover's handbooks, this is another user-friendly way to find company information for private enterprises.  It is organized by sales, amount of employees, and alphabetically, providing bibliographic information, brief descriptions, contact information, and financial data.
